Meowoween: When Your Cats Force You Into the Halloween Spirit

October is almost here. The air is getting cooler, the leaves are starting to turn, and suddenly everything is pumpkin spice and plaid. Along with fall and harvest season comes Halloween — a holiday I’ve never really celebrated. I’m just not that into it. No costumes, no decorations, no spooky movie marathons. It simply never grabbed me.

This year, though, something unexpected happened.

Black cats have long been tied to Halloween lore — superstition, witches, all that classic spooky imagery. Looking at ours this time of year, it finally clicked. The holiday may not be my thing… but cats most definitely are. And once that thought landed, there was no going back.

Meowoween. 🐈‍⬛🎃

I couldn’t resist. I sat down and started designing a small collection dedicated to the combination of spooky season and cats. Playful, a little irreverent, and full of feline attitude. Because if I’m going to lean into Halloween at all, it’s going to be on my terms — and those terms involve whiskers, judgmental stares, and a healthy dose of cat-lady energy.

(I’m fully aware I’m well on my way to becoming a certified crazy cat lady. At this point, I think I’m just leaning into it.)
